Whales approaching Samsara

We sail to Pearl Island ...

Hooray, we're finally escaping the chaos of Panama City and setting sail for Perl Island! It's just a short 2-week getaway, but boy, we do need a break from the city madness. After a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast, Daddy Micha prepped Samsara, and by around 10 a.m., we said goodbye to that dreadful anchorage and headed towards Perl Island. The beginning was a bit nerve-wracking dodging all those massive ships, but after about 45 minutes, we were sailing smoothly. The sun was shining, the sea was calm - sadly to calm for sailing, so we motor cruised instead of using the sails. Maybe not so bad for our first Offshore experience. Daddy Micha whipped out the fishing rods, and we snagged a tuna, yum! Daddy Charly whipped up lunch, and we lounged on the trampoline while Otto (our autopilot) steered Samsara.

Then, out of the blue, a gang of dolphins paid us a visit. Those guys are a riot, zipping around the boat, leaping out of the water, and waving at us - or so it seemed! Sara and I couldn't take our eyes off them, who knows what mischief they were plotting. They were such darlings, frolicking around Samsara. I was itching to dive in and surf on their backs, but our daddies were total party poopers and didn't let us go to play with them! After about 3.5 hours, we spotted Pearl Island on the horizon and were greeted by a whale family. Wow, those fellas are massive, bigger than Samsara, and they love putting on a show with their water spouts. We tried to coax them into playing, but they were in chill mode. It would've been a riot to frolic on their backs with Sara, but oh well, maybe next time.

We even had to lend a hand to Daddy Charly with the anchor as our new anchorage came into view - crystal clear waters and a sprawling beach all to ourselves. We couldn't wait to explore it, so we urged our daddies to speed things up and get us to the beach before sunset. But more on that in my next Bark!

It may be tough to hear, but getting my Dad to take new photos and post my ideas takes a lot of time and energy. If you'd like to reward efforts, how about a snack? I promise to share it with my furry friends at shelters and on the streets because sharing is caring! Thanks!
