How our days looks like on our Sailing Catamaran.

Get ready for a howl-arious Q&A session with this Special Bark!
This Bark might be a bit off the beaten path, but it's super important for Sara and me to tackle your burning questions and soothe your worries. The top emails we get from you guys are all about our well-being and the notion that living on a sailboat might not be the doggone best idea for our species. But fear not! I can't really say if a dog's life on a sailboat, in an apartment, or a house is the ultimate canine dream, because, let's be honest, we've never been wild and free like our wolfy ancestors. What I can bark about is that we're having a tail-wagging blast, love hanging out with our humans 24/7, and embark on some pawsome adventures. So today, we’re spilling the kibble on what a typical day looks like for us on Samsara.
Sara and I are like clockwork ninjas when it comes to our morning routine. At the crack of dawn, we launch ourselves out of bed and onto the trampoline, where we make the sea level rise faster than you can say "global warming." Next, we perform a thorough boat inspection and strategically scatter our toys all over Samsara, which our dads meticulously tucked away the night before. This is crucial, because who wants to play hide-and-seek with their toys every time they want a new one? Then we greet our neighbors and swap the juiciest gossip.
By 6:30 a.m., it's time to rouse Daddy Charlie, because our breakfast is fashionably late by at least two hours. So, we zoom into the salon, onto the bed, and into Daddy Charlie's face, showering him with kisses and love bites. If he plays possum, we bounce on him until he finally admits defeat and gets our breakfast ready. Usually, it takes us less than 5 minutes before he leaps out of bed and fills our bowls, often with a little bonus treat.
After our breakfast, which I prefer to munch on in the back cockpit while Sara enjoys her breakfast in bed like the queen she is, we bounce back to the trampoline to feed the fish. Daddy Micha insists it's crucial to keep Neptune's fishy kiddos well-fed so Neptune keeps our journey smooth and drama-free. Then it's back to bed at warp speed, where Daddy Micha gets ambushed, and we wrestle him until Daddy Charly brings breakfast for our daddies. While they're munching away, we lie nearby like crumb detectives, ensuring no stray morsel invites unwanted guests aboard Samsara. Once their breakfast is done, they tidy up, fluff the bed, check emails, the weather, and chill out a bit. Meanwhile, Sara and I indulge in a post-breakfast snooze until Daddy Charly shouts the magic word: "Beach". "Beach" translates to: strap on the harness, launch the dinghy, and zoom to the sandy paradise for at least an hour of running, swimming, sniffing, and sheer joy.
When we return to Samsara, the first mission is Operation De-Sand: hit the shower, evict all the sand and salt, and then have a vigorous rubdown with Mister Towel on the trampoline. Beach days are like running a marathon in slow motion, so we flop onto the bed or find a shady spot to snooze. Our daddies are the fix-it squad, patching up the boat, penning our bark (which I’ve dictated with the precision of a canine Shakespeare), or, every few days, they whisk us off to a new, dazzling destination. When sailing conditions are primo, we’re all about playtime, naptime, or just chilling on the foredeck. If the seas get grumpy, you’ll find us in the saloon, binge-watching DogTV, snoozing, or having a romp with our daddies on the bed until we hit our new anchorage.
On the days when we're not off to new horizons, post-lunch means a dinghy ride ashore for exploration or the occasional retail therapy session. Lunch is a gourmet affair—our kibbles jazzed up with veggies or, if Daddy Micha’s been successful with his fishing escapades, a generous slab of fresh fish. Yum yum, it's a taste explosion!
Our exploration tours are a blast! Sometimes we embark on hikes to epic viewpoints where we sniff out a zoo's worth of animals and plants. Other times, it's a grand adventure down the streets and beach promenades, where we meet our adoring fans and make friends with other dogs. The highlight? Meeting street dogs! They're always up for a race and have tales that could rival any soap opera. Despite their tough life, they're our best buds. We always try to leave them some grub and ensure they have a buddy to look out for them. Most of the time, we pit stop with our dads at a quaint local eatery, where we hydrate while our dads munch on snacks or indulge in ice cream.
We're usually out for a few hours before heading back to Samsara. Sara loves then to snuggle on the bed while I prefer hanging out with Daddy Micha. Our dinner is served between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Daddy Charly and Daddy Micha eat at 8:00 p.m. or later, but we don’t wait that long! If dinner's late, we make sure they know it. We love dining al fresco on the foredeck, like the rich guys, with a front-row seat to the stunning sunset over the open ocean.
After savoring the view, we join our dads. Once they've eaten and we made sure that we stole a few pieces from their meal as a late night snack, we all snuggle on the big bed in the salon, watch some TV, and drift into dreams of our next thrilling escapade.
So, what’s your take on this? Sure, it might not be the perfect fit for the species, but let’s be honest, I’m not exactly itching to trade places!
